BABBACOMBE MODEL VILLAGE - come out of our cottage St Anns and walk left to the top of Hartop Road. Turn left and walk down
to the roundabout. Cross over the road and turn right, walking down the hill. When you come to the green on left hand side, you can let the dogs off and let the run free.
If you walk straight along, hugging the hedge (so to speak), you will get to a small opening. If you walk through you come to the most amazing view stretching over a couple
of green fields down to the sea. There is a view of Babbacombe Bay and the village across the water. The ground slopes steeply down, but if you walk around the edge, it is
less steep. It flattens out at the bottom and you can walk right up to the cliff edge. Then if you turn right and walk along the cliff, up a few steps, you reach a very
nice viewing area, where you will get a panoramic view of the sea. And it's all very exciting for the dogs. If you want a longer walk you can carry on the cliff path
until you reach the cliff railway. Then you can climb the wide steps up to the top, which go along where the train comes down the cliff. Then round on the road back
to the cottage. The picture to the left is taken from this walk.
PETTITOR - come out of our cottage St Anns and walk left to the top of Hartop Road. Turn left and walk down
to the roundabout. Cross over the road and walk straight down Pettitor Road. You will pass the car park and entrance to the golf course on your left and after a short
walk you will reach an iron gate leading to an open field. If you walk through this gate, you can let the dogs off to run free. The ground slopes down steeply and if
you are brave enough to walk down (as the walk back up is harder!), it is well worth it at the bottom, as you get a fantastic view of Babbacombe Bay and the village
of Babbacombe across the water. The photo on the home page was taken from here - lovely view! It used to be possible to take a further footpath down to the beach from
here, but it is not advisable today as the path has been closed off, as it is not considered safe. But there is a bench here so you can safely sit and admire the view.
Our dog Nemo (right) says it's great fun!
There are also many lovely walks around our cottage Rosalia. Please enquire for more information.
