Holiday cottages in Torquay

Lovely two bedroom Victorian terraced cottage in village of Wellswood in Torquay

We stayed in Rosalia Cottage recently as we had a wedding to go to in Torquay. It was great that it was possible to book it for just 3 nights mid-week, as a lot of the holiday cottages that we have stayed in before, have been quite strict on their possible arrival and departure days. The owner of this cottage seems very flexible, at least out of the popular season.

The cottage is very well located. There are shops and restaurants within a very short walking distance as well as local walks. We had our dog with us so we loved Anstey's Cove. It is a bit steep to get down to the water's edge, so be warned! But it was well worth the walk. Dogs seem to be allowed on the beach which is pebbled, but our dog is daft when it comes to the sea - he spent the whole time barking at us - seeming to be telling us it was too dangerous be too close to the waves! Daft dog! We even saw a dolphin.

We ate one evening at the Fountain restaurant. A bit on the expensive side, but a really nice evening out. They even have a real fire, which was really nice as we were given a table close to it, which kept us really warm.

The cottage was clean and well kitted out. There is a little patio at the back of the cottage, which is enclosed and was therefore safe for our dog.
